Situated between the Adriatic and the Apennine mountains, Le Marche has been described as 'the new Tuscany' - the region is still unspoilt by tourism, and offers the best of rural Italy. Here the rustic flavours of the Apennines vie with the succulent seafood of the coast. The stunning landscape is farmed by the friendliest people who enjoy the highest quality of life (and longest) in Italy
July and August are generally very hot, perfect for lying by the pool and visits to Marche's beautiful sandy beaches, there is plenty of entertainment in the form of medieval festivals and concerts. May, June and September are ideal if you prefer a little more exploration and activity without the heat, the beaches are less crowded, still festas and markets going on. End of December to about Easter, skiing in the mountains, in fact every month is special here!
Enjoy the outdoor opera at Macerata during July & August. info
Wine alone could provide a worthy motive for touring this area. With 7 D.O.C. wines and vineyards and wineries to tour. info
If you appreciate art and architecture be ready to find it around every corner, in every church and gallery....info
